Notice of Adjustment of Business Registration Fee

In his Budget for the fiscal year 2008/09, the Hong Kong Financial Secretary exempted all existing businesses from payment of business registration fee. As such, business owners when renewing or applying to register their businesses paid only the levy of HKD450 for the period from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2009.

In his budget for the fiscal year 2009/2010 announced on February 2009, the Financial Secretary did not suggest any such exemption. As a result, the business registration fee will be re-adjusted back to its year 2008 level at HKD2,450, consisting of business registration fee of HKD2,000 and levy of HKD450, effective on 1 April 2009. That is to say, all existing and new businesses, when apply to and renew their business registration certificate, will need to pay a total of HKD2,450 to the Business Registration Office.

Consequently, our Hong Kong company registration package fees will also be adjusted to reflect the change. Our fees for Hong Kong company registration and annual renewal on our website will be updated on 1 April 2009.
